Refresh picks mobile mag marketing chief

Refresh Mobile, the independent mobile magazine publishing company, has appointed Elaine Devereux as its first marketing and brands director.

Devereux joins the company after five years at T-Mobile, where she held a variety of roles including vice-president of consumer public relations for T-Mobile International and director of public relations. She was also part of the corporate communications team that rebranded T-Mobile across five European markets.

Previously, Devereux was responsible for the Motorola brand across the Benelux region and handled the launch, and subsequent sale, of Phones4u in the Netherlands

Refresh Mobile, which was launched last year from the buy-out of T-Mobile’s News Express service, publishes mobile magazines – or “mobizines” – for brands including OK!, Time Out and BBC News. This week it announced a partnership with Conde Nast to make GQ and Glamour available in the mobizine format – they will be available to download without subscription, via a text hotline.

With mobizines, magazine content is downloaded in a rich, internet-like format, and can be read offline, saving on data charges .
