Regular readers of the Diary may remember the story a couple of weeks ago about the Advertising Trumps card game.

Well, those of you in search of even more old-style fun with a modern business edge should hunt down the intriguingly entitled board game “How Surprisingly Spacious”, produced by computer company Sun Microsystems to celebrate how small their computer servers are.

The aim of the game is to utilise the floor space freed up in the data centre by the new servers.

Players can fill the space they have freed up with items including a hammock, a pitch and putt gold course, a hot tub, an aquarium or even a grand piano.

There is a more sophisticated online version of the game as well, in which the items are given a “fun factor” and a price and you have 90 seconds to amass as much fun for as little cost as possible.
