DVD rental service signs Ann Summers partnership

Ann Summers, the adult retail chain, is among the latest group of partners for online DVD rental company ScreenSelect.co.uk.

Ann Summers will promote ScreenSelect on its website, through its retail stores and also through its parties, hosted by representatives in homes throughout the UK. Customers who take up the offer of a free ScreenSelect trial will also get a &£5 voucher redeemable against Ann Summers products.

Ann Summers head of marketing Gordon Lee says the partnership “opens up new opportunities to deliver exciting promotions and offers to customers in the future.”

Simon Calver, chief executive at Video Island, ScreenSelect.co.uk’s parent company, says: “Partners have played a huge part in increasing our membership to almost 250,000.”

ScreenSelect.co.uk has also signed up AMF Bowling, one of the UK’s largest tenpin bowling groups, which will be promoting the DVD rental service to customers throughout its 33 centres in the UK; Movie Nights, which operates video/DVD kiosks in retailers; and Northcliffe Newspapers.

The four new partners join a list that includes retailers Boots, Comet, Virgin Megastore, Dixons and Currys; media partners such as The Sunday Times, Express Newspapers and Time Out; and technology partners including Real Networks, iFilm and Microsoft.

ScreenSelect claims to rent out over 1 million DVDs a month in the UK.
