Kellogg Ireland calls â¬7m review

Cereal manufacturer Kellogg has put the advertising account for its Ireland business, Kellogg Ireland, up for pitch. The account is thought to be worth â¬7m (&£4.76m).

The US cereal giant is understood to have asked incumbents on its UK advertising business, Leo Burnett and J Walter Thompson, to pitch for the Irish account in a move that could see Ireland’s biggest advertising agency, McConnells, lose control of the business.

Kellogg is one of Ireland’s biggest-spending advertisers and has worked with Dublin-based McConnells on various campaigns. McConnells has been a roster agency and has also worked on specific projects for Kellogg in the past.

In the UK, JWT works on Kellogg’s Cornflakes, Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, Special K, Cereal Bar Range and Variety Pack brands.

Leo Burnett works on Kellogg brands including All- Bran, Coco Pops, and Frosties.

In September last year, Kellogg reviewed its &£60m media planning and buying business in the UK. The incumbent MindShare retained the business.
