Adams Childrenswear Group has appointed former Harrods, Body Shop and Principles marketing chief Ronny Helvey as group director of marketing.

His remit includes driving the fashion retailer’s key brands, Adams Kids and Mini Mode.

Helvey has 18 years’ retail and fashion marketing experience. He was previously marketing director for Principles and Harrods, and global head of retail marketing for The Body Shop.

He says: “We aim to recapture the hearts and minds of mums. Adams Kids is an incredible brand with 75 years of kidswear experience that customers trust. We have a unique opportunity to build a brand experience that is in tune with today’s lifestyles, while also fun for kids and easier for mums.”

Adams Kids chief executive Dean Murray comments: “We are committed to building and enhancing our marketing efforts, and Ronny’s strong track-record and in-depth knowledge is the combination we’re looking for to lead this charge.” Adams Kids handed a &£1m marketing task to Digby&Co last year (MW October 6). The retail-focused agency, founded by Jenny Digby, a former business director at the defunct Abbott Mead Vickers-owned Minerva, is to handle local and in-store campaigns for the chain.
