Nokia launches £800 Aston Martin phone

Aston Martin has teamed up with Nokia to launch a branded mobile phone costing more than &£800.

The limited edition Nokia 8800 features a laser-etched Aston Martin logo on the stainless steel casing. The marque’s famous strapline “Power, Beauty & Soul” is etched onto the phone’s charger and the packaging bears the Aston Martin wings.

The 8800 is Nokia’s flagship phone and the Aston Martin edition comes with a selection of exclusive content, including a short documentary film, wallpaper featuring the company’s current range, a screensaver based on the crystal starter button found in all Aston Martins and ringtones that sample the roar of the Vantage’s 380 horsepower engine.

Aston Martin chairman and chief executive Ulrich Bez says: “The phone demonstrates the same attention to detail as our range of cars. It is an ideal complement to the brand.”

The phone, which goes on sale this week, costs &£800 excluding VAT and is available from Aston Martin dealers and on the company’s website.

Last year Aston Martin appointed Janette Green as director of brand communications. She replaced Tim Watson, who went to California to take up a group role.

Green joined Aston Martin from Bentley Motors, where she was head of lifestyle communications, responsible for relationships with media and brand partners.
