Hertz seeks agency for online push

Hertz Rent-A-Car, the global car rental company, is on the hunt for a creative digital agency as it seeks to ramp its online marketing presence.

The company confirms that it is conducting a pitch. A spokesman for the company says the agency will “work on online and all that entails”.

In the past year Hertz has turned its attention to online marketing and late last year rolled out a pan-European affiliate marketing programme. In an effort to boost online bookings the company appointed European affiliate network TradeDoubler across five markets. Through the programme, Hertz advertises on thousands of websites across Europe in a bid to boost the company’s brand appeal among customers as well as increasing the number of online rentals.

The company was the first major car rental business to introduce online booking, in 1996.

Other agencies currently on Hertz’s roster include Harrison Troughton Wunderman, which handles direct marketing and Manning Gottlieb OMD.
