Sadly, the much-loved Crazy Frog’s career seems to be on the wane – even though he has spawned (if you’ll pardon the pun) a dancehall reggae tribute track called Ring Ding Ding (Frog), which as far as the Diary is concerned is the highest honour.

However, a new amphibious superstar could be waiting in the wings to take the frog’s crown.

Take a bow, Tony Toad – the latest creation from packaging specialist Think Tank Media.

Tony arrived on the Diary’s desk in the form of a mix’n’match misfits game, featuring the toad in a variety of guises including skeleton, backpacker, cleaner and robotic space-toad.

The idea behind the game is to create “crazy colourful characters” to “help with packaging, promotional and marketing ideas”.

The Diary wishes Tony Toad all the best in his bid for stardom, provided he does not start making annoying “ding ding ding” noises.
