Camelot links with Disney for Pirates game

National Lottery operator Camelot has partnered with Walt Disney for the first time, as part of the launch promotion for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

It is launching a themed instant-win game online at www.national-lottery.co.uk as part of the initiative.

Camelot has tied-up with films to launch games before, but it is the first time that a game licensed from a film has been exclusively produced for the site, which has more than 1.8 million registered users.

The game costs &£2 to enter and offers players three chances to win, with a top “pirate’s ransom” prize of &£88,888.

The lottery website will run ads for the film and competitions to win tickets to see the movie.

A trailer for the film will also feature on the National Lottery site.

The game will remain live until early next year.

Last year, Camelot signed a deal with Lucasfilm to launch a Star Wars scratchcard game to promote the opening of Revenge of the Sith, the final instalment of the film series. It was one of the lottery operator’s biggest launches.
