Fitted kitchen group MKD appoints senior marketer

MKD Holdings, the fitted kitchen specialist that has brands including Kitchens Direct and Moben Kitchens, has promoted Tim Moore to marketing director.

Moore, previously marketing manager at the company, replaces Joseph White, who has retired. He is based at Camberley, Surrey, and reports to Chris Gooding. Gooding is marketing director of MKD Holdings’ parent company, HomeForm Group.

HomeForm also owns brands including Sharps Bedrooms – with marketing overseen by Gooding – and Dolphin Bathrooms, where marketing responsibility is with marketing manager Jonathan Payne, who also reports to Gooding.

Last autumn, HomeForm decided to centralise its &£20m media planning and buying business into Brilliant Media (MW November 24). The work was shifted after Interpublic Group-owned BrandConnection resigned the company’s press advertising business (MW November 17) after 11 years as the incumbent. It is thought BrandConnection ended the relationship because of tough retail conditions. Brilliant already handled the company’s TV work.

HomeForm has annual sales of more than &£200m, and sells and installs more than 50,000 kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms each year. According to MMS, it spent more than &£19m on media in 2005, &£7.3m went on Moben Kitchens. Creative is handled by BCMB – the company says there are no plans to review arrangements at present.
