IPC Connect appoints Tammi Iley

IPC Connect, the women’s weekly magazines publisher, has appointed Tammi Iley as publisher of Now. She was previously publisher of NME at IPC Ignite!, where she will be succeeded by Emily Hutchings, former associate publisher of Uncut and Loaded.

Helmut Panke to retire

Helmut Panke, credited with turning BMW around after its ill-fated acquisition of Rover, is retiring. He will step down as chief executive on September 1 and will be replaced by head of production Norbert Reithofer.

Leslie Dach to join Wal-Mart

Leslie Dach, a former vice-chairman of PR outfit Edelman, is to join Wal-Mart as executive vice-president for corporate affairs and government relations. Dach has been an advisor to US President Bill Clinton and 2004 White House candidate John Kerry.

Bill Morrow leaves Vodafone

Bill Morrow, one of Vodafone’s most senior executives, is leaving the company to return to the US for “urgent family reasons”. Morrow, who was recently promoted to head European operations, was one of beleaguered chief executive Arun Sarin’s closest allies.
