Butcher’s Pet Care has handed its &£2m advertising business to integrated agency WFCA after a four-way pitch against undisclosed agencies. It is the brand’s third review in two years.

The Kent-based agency will now develop TV campaigns for the Butcher’s and Butcher’s Choice dog food and Olli cat food brands.

The pet care company had been working with Milton Keynes-based agency Infocus on its flagship dog food brand advertising. The agency won the business at the end of last year without a pitch (MW December 1, 2005).

It is not known if it was involved in the latest pitch. Incumbent media planning and buying agency Walker Media is not thought to be affected by the review.

The brand appointed Foxmurphy to handle the account in October 2004 after it parted company with Clemmow Hornby Inge.

Butcher’s head of marketing Sarah Thomas says: “We’ve been taking a long look at our brands and agency partners and felt that, in view of where we want to take the business, we needed an agency that could help us drive our brands forward.”
