LG Mobile is launching white and pink versions of its Chocolate phone to capitalise on the popularity of the handset.

White Chocolate will be available in the UK before the end of the month, and Pink Chocolate will be launched at the end of September. LG will support the new models with a &£3m TV, outdoor, print and online campaign, which breaks next month.

The company is also launching “premium” versions of the original Chocolate phone with new designs and technical capabilities, available in the UK by the end of the year.

LG has sold more than 2 million Chocolate phones around the world since its launch in May.

John Bernard, LG’s UK head of marketing, says: “It’s important to continue to develop the Chocolate family to build on the success we’ve already had. The coloured Chocolate handsets will appeal to consumers who want their phone to say something about their personality.”

Chocolate was the first handset launched under LG’s Black Label premium brand. New models are expected to be added to the range in 2007.
