TfL seeks to extend roster of agencies

Transport for London (TfL) is seeking to appoint a through-the-line roster to complement its existing advertising and direct marketing agencies.

The transport operator has issued a tender and is seeking agencies to handle a variety of activity including press ads, posters, leaflets, point-of-sale material and postcards.

Earlier this year, TfL retained M&C Saatchi following a statutory pitch, but also appointed WCRS to the roster to handle the congestion charge work. The agency has also won a brief for safer travel at night. TfL also works with Chemistry Communications Group for direct marketing, and Mediaedge:cia handles the &£10m media planning and buying.

The pitch covers three separate briefs. One covers areas such as fares and ticketing projects, bus and river services publicity and management of TfL’s photo library.

A second will support publicity surrounding major events, such as the London Marathon and Notting Hill Carnival.

The third contract will be to create promotional leaflets and posters for London Underground’s Platform for Art public art programme.
