Company: rpm

Job title: Client service director

What keeps you busy all day?:
Internal meetings, client meetings resource/project planning, email and telephone communications with clients.

What keeps you awake at night?:
My daughter and lots of minor issues that seem completely insurmountable during the hours of darkness – but in the morning they return to minor issues.

Describe your working day:
Sounds clichéd, but every day is different. I am generally at my desk by 7.45am, meetings start from 8.30am and the rest of the day is made up of external client meetings, visiting live activity and internal meetings. Where possible, I try to have lunch with clients. Twice a week I am out with clients in the evenings. I am constantly trying to balance meetings with actually getting things done.

What’s your busiest time of day?:
Definitely the mornings.

What brands/accounts have you worked on?:
I work across all the account teams which means I have the chance to work across all brands.

Best day at work:
Every pitch win day!

Worst day at work:
The day after the Christmas party.

Name one thing you’ve achieved that has made your bosses sit up and take notice:
Completing the Marathon Des Sables in 2005 and/or restructuring rpm’s account team.

Ambitions:
To be part of the team that makes rpm the best and most exciting agency to work for.

Advice to other rising stars:
Believe in yourself and always try to keep your integrity.

Quote from the boss:
“Dom plays a vital role in our senior management team, working closely with our key stakeholders and life-blood of the agency – our clients. He is also responsible for looking after, arguably, one of our few assets as a marketing agency, our account handlers. His natural ability to juggle the many facets of his job, combined with a creative flair, the all-important sense of humour and a cool head ensure he gets the very best out of those he works with.” – Hugh Robertson, Managing Partner of RPM.
