Company: Loyalty Management UK

Job title: Relationship Executive – Business to Business

What keeps you busy all day?:
Looking after our Nectar for Business sponsors. The Nectar for Business team (including me) works with them to develop and implement campaigns and analysis, as well as on ad hoc projects and tasks.

What keeps you awake at night?:
Red Bull! No, I love sleep and try not to let anything affect it.

Describe your working day:
Get in around 9am, look through my daily Factiva alerts and send out relevant articles to my team. The day from there can go in many different directions – it’s hard to describe a “typical day” for a relationship executive at Nectar. Emailing or running around the office, talking to people from various departments seems to take up the majority of the day, depending on whether or not I have lots of meetings. I keep in close contact with my accounts throughout the day and thrive on bringing order to chaos!

What’s your busiest time of day?:
I don’t really have peaks and troughs – always busy!

What brands/accounts have you worked on?:
Viking Direct, ICI Dulux Decorator Centres, EDF Energy, American Express, Hertz, Magnet Trade, HSS Hire, Brakes Foodservice.

Best day at work:
Helping my team present our vision and strategy for 2007 to our Executive Committee.

Worst day at work:
Haven’t really had one at Nectar – great company and great people to work with.

Name one thing you’ve achieved that has made your bosses sit up and take notice:
Studying for my Institute of Direct Marketing diploma in my “spare” time – working and studying at the same time has been quite challenge but I am on track to receive my Merit at the end of the year.

Ambitions:
To keep learning and improving – I always want to keep developing myself first and foremost, and hope that helps me move my career forward as well.

Advice to other rising stars:
Don’t be afraid to work hard and don’t forget to play hard – it’s worth it!

Quote from the boss:
“Emma is very capable, a great asset to the Nectar For Business team and fun to work with” – Tim Birchinall , Nectar for Business Relationship Manager
