Hutchinson quits Virgin Mobile

Virgin

Top Virgin Mobile marketer Graeme Hutchinson is leaving the company following its  £962m acquisition by NTL in July.

Hutchinson, who has chosen to leave without a job to go to, has been with Virgin Mobile since it launched in 1999 and has occupied the roles of sales director, sales and marketing director and more recently, since NTL took over, trading director.

Virgin Mobile managing director Alan Gow offered Hutchinson a permanent role as trading director with responsibility for managing sales, distribution and supply chain operation as well as overseeing the expansion of NTL products into retail.

But Hutchinson says while he was happy to perform the role initially to provide continuity in the period immediately following the take-over, the job is not right for him.

Hutchinson says he intends to take a short break from work as well as give more of his time to the charity ABC Trust which he acts as trustee for.
