Piczo, a fast-growing social networking site, has appointed a new managing director for the UK. Chris Seth will lead its development in the UK and will be responsible for taking the company into other areas of Europe.
A key area of growth is signing strategic partnerships with brands keen to reach the largely teenage audience on the website. The company claims its site is safer for children as it has more restrictions on how users can search and link up with others, compared to rival sites.
Piczo has some 10 million users around the world, mostly in the 13-to-16 age range. Some 4 million of them are based in the UK. The website has reached this size without any advertising.
He joins from Richmond Events where he was managing director for UK and European operations. Seth has also previously worked at digital agency Proximity, as well as the Time Out Group, and the International Herald Tribune.
Seth will report to Piczo chief executive Jeremy Verba, and will start in early October.
