Iveco picks marketing and sales chiefs

Iveco, Fiat Group’s truck division, has appointed Andrea Bucci as UK marketing director. He joins from Iveco in Australia, where he spent three years as marketing manager.

The company has also appointed Nick Phillips as UK sales director. He moves from Provecta Car Plan, where he held the same title. Prior to that, he was head of corporate sales at Honda UK. Both will report to Iveco UK managing director Chris Thorneycroft-Smith.

In his previous role, Bucci ran Iveco’s marketing operations in Australia, New Zealand, the Far East and South Africa. Prior to that, he was marketing manager for the Daily model in Italy.

Thorneycroft-Smith says: “With the launch of the new Daily just around the corner, these two appointments are particularly timely and I am looking forward to drawing upon the significant experience of both Nick and Andrea over the coming months.”

Iveco employs 32,000 people and runs 49 production units in 19 countries around the world. Outside Europe, it operates in China, Argentina and Brazil, as well as the Asia Pacific region.

Earlier this year, Barclays paid £66.5m for a majority stake in Iveco’s vehicle finance business. The UK’s third biggest bank has formed a new company with Iveco to provide commercial vehicle financing and leasing to customers in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
