BBC bolsters senior marketing team

The BBC has made two senior appointments to its marketing, communications and audiences division, headed by Tim Davie (pictured).

Helen Kellie, currently head of brand and planning will become head of marketing, communications and audiences at BBC Vision. She replaces Vanda Rumney, who has decided not to return to a full-time role following adoption leave.

BBC Vision was formed by director general Mark Thompson in July this year, as a vehicle to deliver its “Creative Future” strategy.

Kellie will lead a 100-strong team responsible for the marketing and promotion of programmes, content and services produced by the BBC Vision group.

Jacky Brandreth, currently head of marketing, communications and audiences for BBC Nations and Regions will take Kellie’s role as head of brand and planning.

Brandreth’s role will include heading the BBC’s branding strategies, media planning and audience services. She will also lead the current advertising agency roster review process, which is expected to end later this month.

Kellie, who joined the BBC in 2000 as head of marketing strategy, was previously a marketer at Reckitt Benckiser working on a range of brands in the UK, New York and Paris.

Brandreth has been with the broadcaster since 1998, she joined from Coca-Cola as head of marketing strategy.
