Expedia.co.uk has appointed Caroline Cartellieri as vice president and managing director. She replaces Dermot Halpin, who was promoted to President of Expedia in Europe, Middle East and Africa in January.
Cartellieri joins from Kingfisher where she was director of group commercial finance. She will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the UK business and for driving growth of the site, which is a portal for holidaymakers. She will also oversee its marketing strategy.
She held a variety of roles at Kingfisher, including head of strategy, and also founded the gift website eDelights.com. She started her career in management consultancy with roles at Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company in London and New York.
