Pizza Hut backs launch with online campaign
Pizza Hut is backing the launch of its new Cheesy Bites pizza with an online campaign from Elvis Communications. It is the first time the company has supported a launch with significant online activity.
Elvis has developed an online game called the Cheesy Bites Challenge to raise awareness of the new pizza. Players score points by grabbing bites from a Cheesy Bites pizza with top scorers winning a free pizza.
The launch will also be supported in all UK restaurants with point of sale activity, as well as a Cheesy Bites spinning pizza game.
Last month, Marketing Week revealed that Pizza Hut was to become the first UK brand to launch a channel on social networking site YouTube (MW October 26). The company is using the channel, Top That TV, to promote the Cheesy Bites pizza.
