Pigsback.com appoints UK managing director

Pigsback.comPigsback.com, the permission-based marketing scheme website, has appointed Brian Harrison as UK managing director. He joins from Thomson Directories where he was general manager for the internet.

The appointment follows a £2.5m private equity investment to support an advertising push announced last month. Harrison has been tasked with driving revenues and securing 1 million members by the end of next year.

Harrison says: "We have numerous initiatives planned over the coming months to accelerate this growth."

Pigsback.com launched in the UK less than a year ago and already has over 350,000 active UK members. Last month the portal rolled out its first TV campaign to build brand awareness (MW October 26).

Pigsback.com is targeted at women aged between 25 and 40, in the B/C1 demographic. Current brand partners include Carling, Dell, Kellogg, L’Oréal, Nestlé , Tetley and Vodafone.
