BOA names partnership director

The British Olympic Association (BOA) has named Mark Zimmer as its new director of corporate partnerships. He will be responsible for its fundraising programme in the lead up to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games alongside London 2012.

Zimmer previously headed the organisation’s “British Olympic Appeal” in the lead up to the 2004 Athens Olympic games.

In his new role, Zimmer will work closely with The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) to identify opportunities for the BOA and Britain’s Olympic athletes to take advantage of relationships with key sponsors as they are appointed.

Zimmer will be responsible for increasing revenue for the BOA to cover the growing costs associated with London 2012.
