Eidos, the computer games company, has signed a deal with Orange to launch its Tomb Raider game on to mobile phones. It will be released later this month.

The game, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend, will offer similar game play to the console version and will offer 3D gaming.

Simon Protheroe, new media and IT director at Eidos, says: “The mobile phone is the biggest-selling games platform in the UK. Now that handsets offer such improved performance, we are able to provide a more immersive gaming experience for the mobile generation.”

Eidos New Media is a division of Eidos Interactive, which was launched in 2003 to focus on emerging platforms and technologies.
