LBC launches Web service for education providers
LBC, the Chrysalis Radio-owned London speech station, is launching a new interactive platform enabling colleges and educational providers to market their courses via its website.
LBC Learning, which will be promoted on-air, will allow learning providers and key partners to showcase venues and courses on offer and will also include a podcast service.
The launch is based on research, which found that 94% of LBC listeners seek to further develop their skills, while 93% had pursued or would consider continued learning. It also found that key interest areas include computing, practical skills, foreign languages and self-improvement.
LBC also plans to develop a "subscription distance learning" podcast service and an interactive platform allowing listeners to share their learning experiences with others.
Earlier this month LBC unveiled plans to relaunch its subscription service in February next year with new super-premium content and an improved advertising offer (MW December 7).
The second-generation service has been redesigned to make it easier for people to find and download content. It will also offer "premium" premium content that listeners will have to pay extra for.
