Golley Slater has created a Christmas safety campaign for the UK’s four national gas networks.

The networks – Northern Gas, Scottish & Southern Energy, Wales & West Utilities and NGT (National Grid Transco) – have joined forces to raise awareness of the Emergency Gas Number 0800 111999. The Golley Slater ads are aimed at preventing gas-related deaths over Christmas and the New Year period.

The campaign, which encompasses television, national press and outdoor, will break on Christmas Day on ITV. It will run until mid-January across all media and carries the strapline “Wherever you are, whatever you do…”.

Golley Slater has worked with Transco for several years, on the gas company’s campaign efforts to increase awareness of safety issues around gas.

It is believed that young people and the very old are the least aware of what they must do and what not to do if there is a gas leak.
