Garmin hands Euro account to Fallon
Garmin, the navigation systems manufacturer, has consolidated its pan-European advertising into Fallon just six months after handing the business to DDB London. Fallon Minneapolis already handles the business in the US.
DDB won the account, which is worth about £15m, in June after a three-way pitch against Fallon and Crispin Porter & Bogusky. A TV ad, made by DDB, is currently running across Europe.
Garmin called last year’s pitch with a view to ramping up its advertising across Europe to build brand awareness. The move came as rival navigation system TomTom launched a major UK campaign.
Garmin designs, manufacturers and distributes navigation and communications equipment for business and consumer use. It is better known in the US, where it is understood to have 50% share of the consumer market.
