O2 retail marketing head switches to Telefonica

Becky%20HughesO2 UK head of retail marketing Becky Hughes is moving to parent company Telefonica to join its trade marketing division.

Hughes, who joined O2 from Carphone Warehouse in 2003, takes up her new role next week and will be working on broadband and digital TV sales. The transfer is a secondment for an initial period of six months and her responsibilities will be handled by franchise manager Mark Garrod in the interim.

The telecoms operator has also appointed to Jason Duffy, regional manager for the North, as head of sales for retail

Duffy and Garrod will both report to Paula Cave, who was made general manager of retail in November. The division is headed by O2 UK sales director Mark Stansfeld.

Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica bought O2 for £18bn in January last year.
