CBS Outdoor has appointed Orange marketer Robert Oerton as national franchise and development manager for bus advertising.

Oerton, who managed relationships with retailers selling Orange products during his time at the mobile giant, will report to franchise director Jason Cotterrell in his new role. He will be responsible for managing the company’s partnerships with bus operators in the South-east, including the Stagecoach and Transdev fleets.

CBS Outdoor manages about 95% of the UK bus advertising market. Last year, the company introduced GPS technology to its fleet of buses carrying digital LED panels in London, allowing each bus to automatically change its advertising message to match its location.

Cotterrell says: "Robert brings with him a strong franchise background from his time at Orange. Bus is a key and growing market for CBS Outdoor and we’re looking forward to continued investment and innovation in the year ahead."
