Vodafone rolls out McLaren F1 handsets

Vodafone is launching three McLaren-branded handsets to mark the beginning of its headline sponsorship deal with the Formula One team.

The mobile giant unveiled the phones at the official launch of the Vodafone McLaren-Mercedes team in Valencia today (Monday). The handsets, two from Sharp and one from Samsung, come in the team’s silver and red colours and include video clips and images of the new car, as well as dedicated ringtones and a racing game.

Vodafone’s chief marketing officer Frank Rovekamp says: “These exclusive special-edition consumer handsets offer our customers a unique opportunity to get closer to the new Vodafone McLaren-Mercedes team with access to exclusive pictures and the latest news throughout the Formula One season through Vodafone Live!”

The new phones will be launched around Europe tomorrow (Tuesday).
