Comet reports Christmas sales up 7.5%
Comet has reported a like-for-like sales increase of 7.5% during the Christmas period, following high demand for new technologies.
Total revenue for the electrical retailer was up 7.7% between November 1 and January 8 on the same period last year.
Parent company Kesa Electricals announced a total revenue increase of 8.1% across the group, with a like-for-like increase of 6.4% over the same period.
Chief executive Jean-Noel Labroue says: "Sales remained robust over our peak pre- and post-Christmas trading period, and all our businesses delivered good revenue performances.
"Sales were again led by strong demand for new technologies, particularly flat screen televisions and laptops, and sales of white goods continued to show positive growth."
