Godalming, gateway to a Dynamo day out
Dynamo. The very name conjures up images of energy and adventure, and that’s what the staff from the agency of that name produced on a team-building exercise recently.
The Ray Mears-style course on survival skills and life in the bush was held in – wait for it – tropical Godalming, Surrey. And axe throwing, fire making and archery were all on the agenda.
Apparently, during the day the team went commando and shared a single toilet.
Those who most took to the outdoor life were awarded the prize of a carving course, and creative services administrator Kim Marsh was voted the least likely to survive for more than two hours in the bush, and won a manicure set.
Managing director Roger Marriott, pictured showing off his skills, said: “The real benefits will be felt back in the office, even if it’s just knowing who can kill you with an axe at 50 paces.”
He may want to be on alert for acts of arson and William Tell-style office japes.
