Kia replaces UK chief
Kia Motors (UK) president Byong Kwang Jang has left after less than a year to return to South Korea. He has been replaced by Sun Young Kim, who also takes on the title of chief executive.
Kim joins from Hyundai Mobis in South Korea, where he was vice-president of the international business division. He says: "It’s my job to ensure that Kia Motors (UK) continues towards its goal of 100,000 units per year. We have entered 2007 with an excellent range of vehicles."
Jang joined Kia Motors (UK) as president in February last year (MW February 16, 2006).
Former Toyota GB commercial director Paul Philpott joins Kia Motors (UK) as managing director at the start of next month, as exclusively revealed on marketingweek.co.uk, and will report to Kim.
