Scottish Widows names marketer
Scottish Widows Bank has appointed former Sainsbury’s Bank marketer Richard Clark to head its marketing.
Clark (pictured) joins the Lloyds TSB-owned bank, part of the Scottish Widows brand, as head of product development and marketing. He reports to managing director Graeme Hartop.
Clark will be tasked with developing the bank’s marketing strategy and has overall responsibility for product design and marketing communications.
He was head of marketing communications at Sainsbury’s Bank, the financial arm of the supermarket chain. Previously, Clark has worked for Tesco Motor Insurance and Halifax.
Clark replaces Murdo McHardy, who left Scottish Widows Bank to join Intelligent Finance in October last year.
Scottish Widows was founded in 1815 in Edinburgh as Scotland’s first mutual life office. The bank launched in 1995 and offers high-interest deposit accounts, mortgages and credit cards. The brand was bought by Lloyds TSB in 2000 when it demutualised.
