Bissell promotes Gordon to international markets director

Vacuum cleaner and floorcare giant Bissell has promoted UK commercial director Charles Gordon to its top international sales and marketing position.

Gordon takes the international markets director role at Bissell where he will lead sales and marketing internationally including across Europe.

Bissell, one of America’s biggest brands, is looking to expand its presence in the UK and Europe. The company, which invented the world’s first carpet cleaner, is backing growth plans with a £3.5m marketing campaign breaking this month. The campaign, which runs across TV and press for six weeks, will promote Bissell’s ProHeat 2X cleaning range.

The Michigan-based family-run firm produces the world’s best-selling vacuum cleaner and has a 40% market penetration in the US. It says it will introduce new vacuum cleaner models in 2007 and is also expanding its floorcare cleaning range.
