Diageo has appointed Beattie McGuinness Bungay (BMB) to its £15m global advertising account for Irish whiskey brand Bushmills. It follows a pitch against undisclosed agencies. The account is worth between £3m and £5m in the UK.

The agency will be tasked with helping to drive Bushmills position as a premium whiskey brand. It is understood that BMB will create a multimarket branding campaign to mark the brand’s 400-year anniversary in 2008.

The creative account for Bushmills was previously handled by Bartle Bogle Hegarty on a project basis.

The drinks giant purchased the Bushmills brand from Pernod Richard for £200m in August 2005.
