Travel brands boost UK launch of Ambient

Ambient Media, a new agency providing a central buying point for non-traditional out-of-home media, has launched in the UK with clients Lastminute.com and Thomson Travel.

The company provides a one-stop shop for big brand owners looking to use media such as sky writing, helicopter ads, coffee cup and pizza box advertising.

Managing director Craig Ciurlionis is setting up the shop with Look Media after working for Ambient Advertising Australia for five years.

Look Media managing director Jonathan Schulz says many big advertisers have not used ambient media effectively because of the time and cost of choosing and briefing small suppliers. He says: “We wanted to pool small ambient media owners together and represent them at agency level.”

The company worked with media agencies the7stars and Kinetic before Christmas – before it launched – to provide 2.5 metre-high backlit posters strapped to people’s backs in a central London campaign for whisky brand Monkey Shoulder. The Moving Board mobile posters have been brought to the UK by Ambient Media.
