BBC Two is launching a new on-screen identity which aims to convey how the channel has become a "window on the world". The new idents will air from February 18.
The idents, created by Abbott Mead Vicker.BBDO and Red Bee Media, are based on themes such as cappuccino, sunroof and tent and will also have an updated "2" icon.
The seven different scenarios reflect the range and diversity of content on the channel. In each ident the camera pulls back to reveal that you are looking at the world in an unexpected way – through the figure ‘2’.
The logo retains its block shape in line with the rest of the portfolio, but has a more contemporary font and a new deep aqua colour. The on-screen presentation and the channel’s broadband website have also been changed to reflect the new idents,
The channel also aims to encourage viewers to create their own "citizen" versions of the idents using a template available on its website, the best of which it will showcase on the site.
