Tesco, the supermarket chain, is seeking a new global marketing director to take over from Tim Mason, who will now focus on his role as chief executive of the US operation.

Mason, who has handled the retailer’s global marketing since 1995, moved the US last year. It triggered a number of changes in the UK marketing team with commercial and trading director Richard Brasher taking responsibility for marketing. Last month, the retailer appointed James Condon, the former head of global marketing for George at Asda, to head of brand communications and trade planning.
