Cadbury left with egg on its face?

Cadbury consumer confidence barometerConfectioner Cadbury Trebor Bassett is facing its second consumer backlash in less than six months after being forced to recall more than 20 core Easter products after they were incorrectly labelled without nut allergy warnings.

Cadbury has recalled brands including Dairy Milk and Creme Egg, which it has been heavily promoting in the run-up to Easter.

According to BrandIndex, Cadbury has experienced a drop of three points in Buzz (positive or negative coverage) but Index, which reflects overall performance, has not been affected at all. A dip is expected over the coming weeks but it is thought that the bigger news concerning Bernard Matthews’ turkey farms has created far more news headlines.
