What did you drink on that night out? If OMD was there

However it often wakes with a sore head, a hazy feeling of shame clouding its memories of the night before and little or no idea of what exactly it was imbibing during those lost hours.

But those seasoned merrymakers at OMD have found a clever way round this problem.

Just recently they, and a select band of invited guests, enjoyed a particularly memorable session on the hard stuff, which culminated with one of media’s biggest hitters, OMD Group chief executive Steve Williams, being floored by an accidental low blow (in the form of a Steven Seagal-style roundhouse kick, delivered from a swivel chair).

Fortunately there were no hard feelings after the event – and just a few days later, all those who were present received a little memento of the evening, in the form of a specially prepared cocktail menu to commemorate their copious thirst.

Each of OMD’s divisions was celebrated on the list. The Diary’s favourites include the M2M Bellini, the OMD Digital Cosmopolitan and OMD Insight Mojito. But pride of place in the network’s glittering array of refreshments must go to the OMD Ignition Shocker, comprising a single healthy shot of absinthe – apparently because "OMD Ignition deliberately alters your mind".

The Diary wonders whether Williams will be introducing a High Ball to the line-up any time soon.
