Internet bank brand Egg has teamed with up Channel 4 to launch advertiser-funded programming online aimed at homeowners.

Four Egg Mortgages films offer homeowners a guide through the do’s and don’ts of home improvement and feature the broadcaster’s roster of property experts including Kevin McCloud and Sarah Beeney.

Head of Egg brand Daniel Sector says the ad-funded broadband films mark the first time the online bank has produced bespoke digital content.

The programmes are hosted within a microsite with links to the Egg Mortgages homepage.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Egg head of marketing direction Katie Roswell is to leave the brand to join insurance provider Pruhealth as director of marketing. It follows Prudential agreeing to sell Egg for £575m to US company Citigroup.

Prudential launched Egg in October 1998, providing a range of banking and financial services products such as personal loans, credit cards, mortgage loans, and deposit and savings accounts via the internet.
