Twinings, the tea brand, is extending into the coffee market for the first time with the launch of four new products. The new range will be available in March.
Twinings is investing £3m in the launch, including a major TV campaign, which will break in the autumn. It is hoped the coffee range will be worth £8.5m by the end of the year.The four products are Intense, Rich, Dark and Mellow and all are made from 100% Arabica beans. Abigial Collins, Twinings marketing manager – coffee, says that company carried out two years of research before launching the range and found that customers often take "pot luck" when choosing products. She adds that the Twinings range aims to clearly communicate through the names and strength indicators exactly what consumers can expect from each variant.
