Coty, the Reckitt Benckiser-owned beauty company, is combining its regional operations across the Americas, Europe and Asia to create a new global business unit that will house its mass-market cosmetics brands.

Coty Beauty will be headed by the former Coty Beauty European president Hans Joachim Honigfort. The division was previously split into Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Bernd Beetz, Coty chief executive, says: "Merging Coty Beauty into a unified division further positions Coty to achieve our goal of becoming a top five Beauty company."

Last year, the company brought its premium brands together under a similar division, Coty Prestige. It covers the designer fragrance portfolio, including products from Calvin Klein, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Lopez.

Last week, the company unveiled plans to launch the first line of fragrances for model Kate Moss as it extended its partnership with the British star. She is already the face of its teenage cosmetics line Rimmel London.
