Ben%20FogleB&Q, the DIY retailer, is launching a nationwide campaign fronted by reality-TV-star-turned-presenter Ben Fogle, to highlight its range of water saving products.

The campaign is being launched in association with not-for-profit group Waterwise and begins on Saturday with in-store and point of sale promotions.

These will be followed up with press ads in national newspapers a week later along with a leaflet drop to 7 million homes across the UK. The leaflet will showcase the retailer’s water efficient products, which range from a simple click save tap through to an underground water butt costing £1,698, and give tips on conserving water.

Five days of ads in the Scottish Daily Record will finish with a supplement entitled Water Efficiency Made Easy at B&Q.

The campaign will also include a radio day with Fogle giving interviews, either live or pre-recorded, which will be syndicated out to regional radio stations on March 14.

During the interviews Fogle will be encouraging people to work out the amount of water they use daily on a "water calculator" at B&Q’s website www.diy.com. Customers will also be able to pick up a free shower timer on the day at all stores nationwide. The timer beeps every two minutes to allow you to track how long you have been under the shower.
