Birds Eye raids P&G for general manager

Birds Eye UK has appointed Procter & Gamble sales director Anne Murphy as its new general manager. Murphy will report directly to Birds Eye Iglo Group chief executive Martin Glenn.

Birds Eye UK has appointed Procter & Gamble sales director Anne Murphy (pictured) as its new general manager. Murphy will report directly to Birds Eye Iglo Group chief executive Martin Glenn.

At P&G, she headed the customer development function, with responsibility for Gillette, Ariel and Fairy Liquid brands. Murphy has had previous roles at Tesco and Pepsico UK.

Meanwhile, TV presenter and food critic Giles Coren has been signed up by the company to front a series of ads emphasising the nutritional advantage of freezing food at its prime. The ads have been created by Bartle Bogle Hegarty, with planning and buying through Mindshare.
