Spirit Advertising has been appointed to handle the £5m advertising business for watch manufacturer Concord ahead of a global relaunch of the brand.

The agency won the business following a pitch against two undisclosed New York agencies and will create an integrated push for Concord that will feature press ads, viral, promotional and point-of-sale activity.

Concord, which is owned by Movado Group and celebrates its centenary this year, will unveil a new product range in Switzerland in April.

The company has just appointed former Nestl? marketer Stefan Feltgen as marketing director to spearhead the relaunch. He reports to Vincent Perriard, who joined Concord as president in June last year.

Spirit managing partner Richard Hammond says: "The Concord brand will be challenging the industry with daring new products. People will love the new confidence within the brand." The Concord win follows Spirit’s appointment to handle the advertising business for housewares company Salter last month. The agency has already developed a press campaign that played on people’s desire to lose weight as a New Year resolution. It will create a television campaign for the brand later this year.

Spirit was also behind a recent campaign for online gaming site Foxy Bingo featuring model Jordan. The campaign aimed to attract more bingo players to the site.
