Nintendo Wii, PS3 – the huge worldwide consumer demand for these products has been well documented in the media, and they are sure to be among the most popular products sought after for promotions and incentives campaigns as they are highly aspirational to a broad target market.
But this wide ranging appeal has a potential drawback – will supply match demand?
I fear that some promoters featuring these products as promotional prizes may well underestimate the availability of stock and have difficulties. The level of demand experienced will have an undoubted effect on supply and it can take a while for substantial stock to come into distribution.
So it is vital that brands and agencies take great care to ensure that suppliers are able to supply the stock or have a good quantity already in stock at the right price before they feature these high demand new products.
