BD-NTWK has been appointed to raise awareness of Norwich Union’s £50m sponsorship deal with UK Athletics. The news follows the extension of the insurer’s deal until the end of 2012.
BD-NTWK will create an integrated campaign to leverage Norwich Union’s association with the sport’s governing body. The first work is due to break in June.
The £50m six-year deal is thought to be the biggest sports sponsorship in the UK outside of football. Norwich Union has been involved with athletics since 1999 and says it wants to give 10 million children and 100,000 teachers in almost every school across the UK the chance to participate in athletics by 2012.
Tanya Veingard, head of sponsorship and corporate social responsibility at Norwich Union, says: “We want to take our sponsorship to the next level and make it work harder for the brand.”
